Title: HUMANITY – … it’s time to look eachother in the face …

World War II ended 1945 – and so ended what in widely known as the genocide.   History tells us that some 6 million Jewish humans perished on the basis of racial hatred and a purging of a race was the aim. The World is still a racial place – the most obvious place is America – did southern white folk treat the African-American any differently than the Nazi’s treated the Jews? It was not until the mid 60’s that African-American’s were allowed to vote – yet civil unrest still exists across the Nation – remember the 1992 LA Rodney King riots … the on-going gang warfare across all major cities – the drug dependency and criminal statistics where being African-American gives you much less opportunity at the American dream.  America remains one of the most racially biased Nations in the World.  They have come far – an African-American President sits in the White House – he is hamstrung and has a hostile Congress and Senate – yet he is the President.  That suggests some progress as a tolerant society. Australia too is still deeply entrench in a class system that has Aboriginal’s and would be immigrant’s marginalised.  We treat the ‘boat people’ as bad as Hitler treated Jews – herded off to camps and left to self destruct in those pressured and stressful times.  Perhaps not the same as Hitler’s labour camps and genocide intention … but you get the point right. South Africa is full of hypocrisy – Apartheid ended 20 years ago – yet whites still own all the wealth.  The racial equation carries to the religious faith as well – radical Muslims in the Middle-East look upon whites as infidels and sinners.  That they may be, but there is no tolerance of the opposite opinion.  it’s not a simple debate – yet the truth is that people hate one another purely because they look or think differently and that is a HUMANITY problem. The G20 Nations – mainly wealthy Nations and a mixture of emerging Nations like Mexico, Brazil and a mixture of European Nations who are not members of the Euro Zone – many have racial issues.  Remember the Serb v Bosnian conflict – the Rwanda genocide – all based on racial hatred … Where does HUMANITY really stand against all this history? 50 million people died in WWII – and the will to impose tyranny upon a civilian population still goes on.  I’ve just watched a Movie called “The Great Debaters” – it was inspirational and motivated this post. When Humanity fails and life cheapens – and it is a fact that life and its value varies across the globe – why is Western media always filling news stories about human tragedy that lessens third world suffering. Earlier this year the floods across Queensland occupied the news feeds for days – 30 odd lives were lost.  Yet at the same time in South America and Asia, thousands died from flooding rains and it was hardly news in this Nation.  America suffer tornado disasters and we get minutes of news feeds showing the destruction.  Why is America’s loss of life, and the UK riots and civil unrest more important to NEWS and Media feeds than third World disasters? Racial prejudice is everywhere and never more so than in this Nation.   Sending children offshore for procession when their efforts represent them trying to start a new life free from oppression and racial hatred – makes the humanity question more real. More needs to be done – not the talkathons that Governments pay lip service to with their 1000 page reports – but real commitment to improving the human gene that controls tolerance and acceptance.  The world has advance on this issue, but many Nations self delude themselves about their racial instincts.  ________________________________________ The EYE-BALL Opinion …
