Wayne Swan and his offsider Assistant David Bradbury have perhaps the hardest jobs in politics – how to convince an electorate they know what their doing when it comes to managing the Nation’s finances.    Since the Government abandoned its ‘Budget Surplus‘ target during the December recess last year,  Treasurer Swan and his Finance team have  had significant creditability issues.

Swan bailed in his duty to inform the Nation over his budget surplus backflip.  He left it to Penny Wong as Finance Minister and ordered her into the cauldron with the task to inform the Nation Government was abandoning if forecast budget surplus. Wong’s announcement was unsurprising to a Nation already believing the ‘budget surplus’  forecast was no longer achievable.

Since that admission – Swan, and his Assistant David Bradbury,  have tried to assume low profiles amid the ALP leadership turmoil of recent weeks.

Bill Shorten knows what his job is as a former AWU Secretary and widely seen as the heir apparent to the ALP leadership.  However, until that time he is stacking the decks of power with former Union heavies.

His appointment this week of no less then eight (8) of eight (8) Fair Work Australia Tribunal positions with former Unions cronies is a clear intent to further Unionise the face of ‘Fair Work Australia’, and an insight to the hidden agenda of former AWU aligned members that has been in vogue for some time.

The AWU dominated Faction:

These aligned ALP members hiding amongst the true ALP believers have their own agenda.  They operate from within the internal workings of the ALP and have been going about their business for more than a decade.  The full membership is not any available list nor publicly acknowledge to exist as a ‘faction’.

However – they can easily be identified by deeds and actions and include the likes of the misandrist groupies collectively termed the ‘Handbag Brigade’ – i.e. Tanya Plibersek, Nicola Roxon, The Governor General, Jenny Macklin,  Kate Ellis, and Kate Lundy.

Then there are the ‘toy-boy’ members all prepared to lay down for Julia and include the likes of Wayne Swan, Craig Emerson, Jason Clare, David Bradbury, Peter Garrett, Tony Burke, Stephen Conroy, and Stephen Smith.   It’s like a cult of self-sacrifice as each go about their Ministerial responsibilities making fools of themselves as they do.

The collective weight of these MP’s measures little in terms of achievements and the skills needed to manage a Nation.   Their past deeds have proved their deficiencies.  The Nation has reason to be fearful of the damage to the Nation they have already caused.

Those listed are the profile members of the ‘faction’, and all play senior roles in the Gillard Ministry. They all  have a serious history of past and present Union affiliation.

Some examples of the on-going damage this unified faction has and is causing to the Nation is put forward below:

  1. Poor economic management and mis-representation with respect to:
  • the damage caused by the continued high Currency value, and the lack of policies to address the problem – Swan’s answer has been to embrace the funds inflow as ‘a pipeline of off-shore investment’.  The man does not understand what itt is he does not understand.
  • the $300 billion growth in Debt – with no end in sight with the new Gonski reforms on education, an dthe unfunded NDIS legislation,
  • the past mis-direction in blaming revenue growth as the reason for the Budget surplus backflip for the 2012-13 budget,
  • the future cost of the declared intentions and election spend leading up to the Sept 2013 election …
  • the implied intention to play with wealthy superannuation tax levels to pay for budget shortfalls …
  • the overall acceptance of responsibility and accountability for all this Governments financial management shortcomings …
  1. Border Protection:
  • the failed ‘Huston’ solution,
  • the failed ‘457’ visa solution,
  • the failed ‘Malaysian’ solution,
  • the failed ‘offshore’ processing solution.
  1. Legislation Stuffups:
  • the failed ‘MRRT’ – watered down by Gillard as the new PM to ready the Government for an election,
  • the failed ‘Carbon Tax’ – fast proving to be the ‘greatest con’ and even Gillard did not believe in the alarmist theory, yet rolled over and agreed to a ‘Carbon Tax’ with the GREENS in the pursuit of power and who Governed after the 2010 election,
  • the failed ‘anti-discrimination’ Bill put up by Roxon late 2012,
  • the failed ‘media legislation’ hastily put together by Conroy with a ‘no-negotiation’ warning and withdrawn to save face when the Government could not get the support it needed from the cross-benches.

This previously unrecognised ALP factional exposure became more apparent during the Leadership spill last week with the desertion by senior ALP members and former Ministers defecting and exposing their mistrust in Gillards agenda.

It is not hard to imagine Gillard’s motives to form this common cause alliance given how she suffered during and after the AWU scandal involving her former criminal lover Bruce Wilson, and fellow criminal Ralph Blewitt.

Gillard refuses to acknowledge she ‘did anything wrong’, but evidence to the contrary has a Nation convinced she has a case to answer.

The cover-up by her cronies to make any accountability and criminal intent, Roxon being the most pronounced as the lawyer who took over the now missing ‘Gillard’ file in the aftermath of the falling out between Slater and Gordon and the real AWU client.

There were other helpers who ensured crucial files ‘disappeared’ from normally safe depositories for legal documents.  These files are under subpoenaed by both the Victorian and Western Australian police investigations and remain ‘mysteriously missing’.  The files contain evidence that will provide evidence crucial to proving Gillard’s guilt or innocence.

Gillard is a criminal by any measure of decency and moral behaviour – her guilt or innocence in the AWU scandal is still to be revealed in a legal system that is designed to protect those who have the power to appoint Commissioners, Judges,  Federal Court appointees, and Royal Commission heads.  Gillard will escape with the help of those she has appointed to high office.

The only defence the electorate has to ensure that justice prevails, is the free media and the will and ability to express free speech.

In the last three months this Government has attempted to influence our freedoms of speech, and expression with the disastrous anti-discrimination bill put forward by former Attorney General Nicola Roxon late last year, and similarly fated new ‘media’ legislation that was withdrawn by the Government at the 11th hour because the Government could not get the numbers.

Public opinion on both bills played a very large part in seeing both fail. That is not to diminish the hubris display by this AWU faction within the Government to impose their own agenda into law.   Senior Ministers have had enough and called the spill to put the faction on notice.   Those Ministers, Secretaries and Whips have placed Gillard and her faction on notice – they want their ALP back.

The rest of Australia should take notice and do likewise.  Independents Windsor, Oakeshott, and Wilkie should do likewise and support the intended ‘no-confidence motion’ when the House next sits for the ‘Budget’ session in May ’13.

The EYE-BALL Opinion plea for action:

Gillard’s Government is poison to this Nation … how do we get rid of her now?

The message has to be sent – there are some 14 million registered voters represented by 150 MP’s – 72 of which are ALP.    If each of these 72 ALP MP’s received an e-mail, a fax, a phone call, or a letter from all the people who want her gone with a simple message like the one below –  :

This is a protest message …

… do you think it might motivate caucus …

Please – send this message to as many and as often as you can – bombard the Caucus Members with a message so clear and with weight of numbers that it will force them to act.

You could also think about sending it to the Independents, Oakeshott, Windsor, Wilkie, and Brandt,  as well … Katter already votes with the Coalition, and Slipper and Thompson are a lost cause and their fate already sealed.

The EYE-BALL Opinion …

Craig Emerson opened his mouth today to utter these words about the Gillard reforms … :

TRADE Minister Craig Emerson has rejected criticism that Labor has deviated from the approach taken by former leaders Bob Hawke and Paul Keating, saying the party remains committed to governing for “all Australians”.

Dr Emerson today said Julia Gillard was leading a reformist government, citing Labor’s national disability insurance scheme (NDIS), overhaul of school funding and its introduction of a carbon price.

He rejected criticism made by former cabinet ministers Simon Crean and Martin Ferguson over the government’s use of class warfare rhetoric and its recent crack-down on 457 visa workers.

“I welcome the debate but I don’t accept that this Government isn’t a reforming Government,” he told Sky News’ Australian Agenda program. “I don’t accept a proposition that we aren’t governing for all Australians.”

Yep , they sure do take after Hawke and Keating …….

Hawke …”We will bring this country to it’s knees”

Keating …..”Hold on to power, whatever it takes”

Yep,, seems they following the Hawke and Keating path to the letter.

At least Hawke and Keating Governed with the Nation’s interest at heart and stood for something more than personal agenda’s.

  4. March 31, 2013 at 2:50 pm

    Treasurer Swan’s latest economic update:

    31st Mar 2013: Treasurer’s economic note

As any regular reader of this note knows, I often write about how critical it is for our national debate that we have a discussion based on facts. Time and time again, our debate is let down by those determined to deliberately mislead or distort our public conversation for their own purposes. Like when a politician makes a blatantly false claim such as “after five years … our country has stood still” or “the economy is flatlining” – extraordinary when you consider our economy has grown 13 per cent since 2007 and growth remains around trend. People should rightly hold politicians to account for these kinds of blatantly false statements. Such claims are not just wrong, they are an insult to the hard work and determination of all Australian workers and businesses who work so hard every day to ensure our economy remains one of the most resilient in the world.

When it comes to the economy, the stakes are simply too high to have a debate without the facts. The flow-on impact of distortions or blatant mistruths can be enormous, not just in the market place, but also around the dinner table. That’s because exaggerations and misrepresentation of our economy have the potential to undermine confidence, which in turn can have a ripple effect through our society, affecting jobs, incomes and the ability of small businesses to turn a profit.

    .. continues here

This boofhead truly is an embarrassment … he points the finger at everyone else and claims they are misrepresenting the ‘facts’ … but clearly when the finger is pointed back by people much smarter than Wayne Swan … his rhino skin refuses to acknowledge the hypocrisy …

There is nobody in the current Cabinet or among those turfed to the back benches that could hold a candle to either Hawke or Keating. Hawke was intellectually smart as well as street smart and had charisma. He could sell his Govt, his policies and himself to the Australian public. Keating was the same but with a venom second to none which in the end detracted from his good points. The current mob are ‘rank’ amateurs with nothing going for them in any department. They males are straight goons and the females are Harpies.
Abbott is going to need to toss out all these Union appointments to the FWA and Judiciary and then legislate to bring the Unions under corporate laws.
Labor lost a lot when they brought in the “quota” system for female members of Parliament. The ended up with second raters.

  6. March 31, 2013 at 6:42 pm

So true … join a Union, become an ALP MP – then a Minister … but to make the big bucks you have go to acting school, learn how to lie with a straight face, let the makeup people show you how to do your face and you then have a bona fide stooge to stand in front of a camera and recite learned lines …

Poor old Emerson forgot to learn how to sing and dance … but then he had slept with Gillard and had insight …

Emerson is now indescribable. He has introduced a new class of Australian families. We have gone from ‘working families’ to ‘modern families’ now to ‘fabulously wealthy families. But as
P V O has it, he is Doctor Emerson

Oh Barry M, you poor lost soul pl give up the alcohol praise for hawke, a person disloyal to his wife, a perpon who had an alcohol problem, a person who had a gambling problem. As PM the only one in the Westminster system to resign in front of the TV for cash. I’am sure Dave the P agrees with me

    As always the issues run so deep, and the reflection is poor. Hanging on to power has been;
    – supporting someone like Craig Thomson, or Peter Slipper, which means AWU mud sticks,
    – Eddie Obeid who belongs in gaol, is diminished, distanced, and not gaoled (with many more bad examples) but efforts are made to minimise the damage,
    – then you get to dumb and dumber analogies, when minister after minister, can’t admit their failings but need to try the 3 thimbles and pea trick, when it comes to dealing with economic issues or trying to present normal government as a glowing record. Like jobs creation. No one buys the jobs creation story cause household budgets are under stress. The electorate is marginalised.

When polling day comes the issue that will really bite is another great big tax. The carbon tax will become internationally standardised. Coalition promises to make Australia pollution taxes at the forefront. Either way, black holes for treasury. Upshot ALP promises jobs first, Opposition promises fiscal restraint. Pure and Simple.

Another great big tax was the coalition mantra, when the government went from Carbon tax to Resource Super Profits tax. But now the debt is spiraling, and the spending brakes must be applied, but done in such a way that consumption isn’t halved like in Qld.

This is why superannuation is naturally in the firing line, it is a savings pool which affects future standards of living, not direct consumption. When you look at the basket cases of the world, it is the same, increased taxation of those who can best afford tax minimisation schemes rather than those already on the breadline.

This comes to international tax treaties. There is a logic that multi-nationals shifting tax to tax havens can not be fixed unilaterally. It must be done equally by world government (which simply doesn’t exist).

The only positive I have heard recently is bilateral support for currency moves against China. They are buying our resources at spot prices using favourable currency terms of trade. But it doesn’t stop there, what about QE.

At the end of the day, Canberra is a Tower of Babel, in every way. A planned city, designed around an artificial lake, populated by vacuous and superficial people living in planned suburbs, with an over inflated sense of importance, who attempt to dictate terms, who are truly without soul, who need to visit the working belts and methods of primary production or extraction from time to time, to attempt to achieve any sense of reality, and as the headline says,

Be careful what you wish for – A vote for Gillard and her supporters …is a choice for …Unionised Socialism and Class Warfare …

The dumbing down of society, and more corruption, in the grab for power.

A wonderful comment … and worth greater exposure then can be offered here … thanks for your support Parable …

  11. April 1, 2013 at 12:20 pm

    Hey Parable you forgot to say;
before 1913 the Australian Capital Territory which is also known as Canberra was idyllic sheep grazing territory, grazing off the fat of the land, and

    it still is!

  12. April 1, 2013 at 12:25 pm

    To Barry M,

Do you mean on Emerson “Emerson is now indescri – bable?” That would fit the requirement to have a doctorate.
