Title:
– Legitimacy –
– Australia demands it – Gillard does not have it –
| Author: EYE-BALL Opinion | 23rd Mar 2013 |
The ALP governs based on legitimacy that it has not earned.  Gillard leads based on legitimacy she does not have.  The Nation screams illegitimacy and Gillard spits in their face.

If anything has been proved in recent days – democracy in this Nation is not the will of the people, nor is a Government of the people, nor for the people.  It is Gillard’s vision as a controlled puppet being managed by the AWU Union leadership. The true labor values represented in the elder leadership who all resigned their Minister positions exit leaving a void that Gillard will rue in days and weeks to come.

The Ministers who remain are the new Labor and they have proved their incompetence in all things in their unquestioning support for Gillard – i.e.

  1. Policy failures – MRRT, Carbon Tax, Anti-Discrimination, Media Legislation,
  2. Budget restraint – failure to meet its won three-year deadline for a surplus, $300 billion of new debt,
  3. Democracy of the people, for the people, and by the people – this Government has shown itself to be self serving – the largest remunerations voted to themselves in the history of Government, the corruption from within that is protected – i.e. Thompson, Slipper –
  4. Union protection – the corrupt Unions hold sway over MP’s so much so that they are not allowed to vote their heart or along lines of Party Leadership.  The Unions control the ALP and have been entrenched in a ‘slush-fund’ wealth creation and treat their members as pawns in their game with employers to extract ‘blackmail’ style donations visa viz the exposed evidence  coming out over the Bruce Wilson and the AWU exposed evidence.
  5. MP corruption and Senator appointments – Craig Thompson has been protected by Gillard ever since the HSU fraud was discovered and under investigation, her appointment of Peter Slipper to The Speaker highlights her character judgement, and the appointment of Bob Carr as a replacement Senator for Mark Arbib and the new Foreign Minister – all belong to Gillard and attest to her past corrupt exposures and poor judgement.

Rudd’s ‘never ever’ statement could not be clearer – and the senior ALP Ministers who pulled the pin today – minus Albanese and the two-faced Butler who blinked at the last moment yesterday – will leave a void in the ALP that will take decades to rebuild.  Collectively, there is 150+ years of ALP experience in the party elders who quit or were sacked yesterday and today.

The list thus far is:

21st Mar 2013:

  1. Regional Australia Minister and Arts Minister Simon Crean – sacked 21st Mar 2013.

22nd Mar 2013:

  1. Teritiary Education Minister Chris Bowen – quit 22nd Mar 2013.

Extract from Chris Bowen’s resignation speech:

…” want to say something about the Labor Party. The Labor Party, a strong Labor Party, is vital to the future of Australia. Labor’s the only party that believes in growth and opportunity. The Greens understand opportunity but they don’t understand growth. The Liberals understand growth but they don’t understand opportunity. We believe in both. We’re the party that knows that economic growth lifts people out of poverty. We’re the party that knows that opportunity is what means a kid from Western Sydney can make it to university and federal Cabinet. We’re the only party which combines growth and opportunity and lifts people and provides for their aspirations to become a reality. If the Labor Party doesn’t do it, who else is going to? If the Labor Party isn’t strong, who’s going to care about the kids from Western Sydney, the kids from Weipa and them getting a fair chance at life and the opportunities of a world best education? The Labor Party is so important. We have to make sure that the Labor Party is strong.

That’s why I’m announcing today of course that I will recontest the seat of McMahon at the next election. I intend to fight vigorously and I intend to win it. …”

  1. Resources and Energy Minister Martin Ferguson – quits 22nd Mar 2013.
  1. Human Services Minister Kim Carr – quits 22nd Mar 2013
  1. Chief Whip Joel Fitzgibbon – quit. 22nd Mar 2013
    • YouTube replay of Joel Fitzgibbon’s radio interview:
  1. Parliamentary secretary for foreign affairs Richard Marles – quit 22nd Mar 2013
  1. Whip: Janelle Saffin – quit 22nd mar 2013
  1. Whip: Ed Husic – quit 22 Mar 2013.

This Leadership void cannot be replaced and the Government will be weakened further with these resignations.   Gillard’s legitimacy is further weakened.

Word is that there will be more in coming days … and if the MP’s who supported Rudd and wanted change pause now and return to Gillard, then they do not deserve to be serving as MP’s in Government, nor the Parliament.

It these MP’s are so beholding to their job security and the Union hold over their endorsement – then that are not a part of any democracy I want to be respectful of.

THU 21 MARCH 2013
Prime Minister
Canberra
Subject(s): Labor leadership

PM: Thank you very much. I intend to make a short statement. I don’t intend to take questions today. There is very much work to do.

I’m grateful to my colleagues for their continuing support of me as just demonstrated in our Labor Party meeting.

I accept their continuing support of me as Prime Minister and Labor Leader, with a sense of deep humility and a sense of resolve.

I never sought office for its own sake; I have only ever sought office in the interests of the nation, and to assist our nation to prepare to meet the challenges of the future.

It is in that spirit that I intend to continue to govern.

We’ve got a lot of work to do and we will continue to do it, making sure Australians have got the benefit of jobs and opportunity, making sure that in our nation we are getting ready for the future.

Rolling out the National Broadband Network, improving support for people with disabilities through our new scheme Disability Care, making sure too that we support modern families with the stresses and strains of everyday life and cost of living pressures.

And above all, ensuring that every Australian child gets a world-class education and a ticket to the future.

That is the purpose with which we govern, and that is how we intend to continue. That is what matters to Australians, and it is what matters to me.

Today the leadership of our political party, the Labor Party, has been settled and settled in the most conclusive fashion possible.

The whole business is completely at an end; it has ended now.

The Government has a plan for the nation’s future. We’ve got plenty of work to be getting on with it, and we’ll be getting on with it in a few minutes’ time.

I’ll turn now to the Deputy Prime Minister for some comments.

DPM: Thanks very much Prime Minister. I think it’s pretty fair to say that there was very strong support in the party room for the Prime Minister today.

And that’s because this Prime Minister is a tough leader, and a leader who is a great champion for our country and for the reforms that are required to create future prosperity. And also to spread opportunity around our country.

Now I think today’s result does end these matters once and for all, and what we will do is rededicate ourselves to working every minute to put in place a program which will lift our country up and maximise all of the opportunities which will flow in our region and to this country in the years ahead.

For my part, I’ve got a Budget to prepare. I’ve been working on that very, very hard over the last few weeks and the Government will continue to do that.

But from our perspective, it’s back to work.

Thanks very much.

PM: Thank you very much.

… she presumes that no challenger means unified and total support.

Good Governance comes from strong like-minded people who want to serve the people as opposed to their own ego’s and financial benefit.

Four Ministers and an additional four Parliamentary Secretaries and Whips have decided that the Leadership of their party are destroying the party put at risk a 100 years of traditional Labor values.

Some 40 odd other MP’s were also like-minded and are now in a position where they are required to pledge support to a Leader they do not believe in.

The question is obvious – why do they not cross the floor on any no-confidence motion?

If their head says no to Gillard, why hesitate over a new election – do they not think the electorate would think their actions courageous and reward them – or is that risk too high given that the ALP may dis-endorse them before the election.

What we are witnessing is an ALP split … the Unions and their control issues and the traditional ALP value MP’s who are nonaligned with Unions.

This splinter has been in the wind ever since the Rudd press conference prior to his assassination in June 2010 – listen below:

This week’s events are history in the making.  Just as the Whitlam dismissal was defining – Gillard’s Leadership will be remembered for far worse reasons.

How Australia responds to this crisis will determine how the Nation provides for and assists generations to follow.

The media have all turned against Gillard and she only has herself to blame. Like any person who continually kills the messenger – Gillard has roved time and time again that she will not listen to Australia, nor the senior membership of her own Cabinet, and MP’s.

How Gillard can continue to lead in the face of all this negativity – i.e. polls on preferred PM, and 1st preferences at 30%,  why do the Union aligned 50+ ALP MP’s and Senators decide the fate of a Nation?

Where is the democracy in that equation – a Government by the people, of the people, and for the people …

50+ MP’s and Senators are holding this Nation to a ransom that will not and can not be paid – it is time to turn the wrath of Australian’s to full throttle against these pathetically self-serving MP’s and Senators who are akin to Hitler’s loyal suicidal lieutenants in their last days – sheltered in a bunker knowing the complete destruction is only days, weeks away.

There is no legitimacy to Gillard –

  • she is tarnished by the AWU scandal and her involvement in a Union fraud,
  • married men seem to be her preferred companions,
  • her puppet masters come from an era where some of the most corrupt Union officials Australia have ever produced plied their trade,
  • her misogyny speech will become her death epitaph as she tried to turns Australia into a gender biased Nation,
  • she helped assassinate a first term PM because her Union alliance were being ignored by Rudd,
  •  she has divided the Nation over immigration, single parent incomes, Gonski and the NDIS reforms and their future funding programs,  sports doping, State ownership of mineral royalties, GST carve-up, and so much more …

… again … Gillard has no legitimacy …

The EYE-BALL Opinion plea for action:

Gillard’s Government is poison to this Nation … how do we get rid of her now?

The message has to be sent – there are some 14 million registered voters represented by 150 MP’s – 72 of which are ALP.    If each of these 72 ALP MP’s received an e-mail, a fax, a phone call, or a letter from all the people who want her gone with a simple message like the one below –  :

This is a protest message …
GET RID OF GILLARD

… do you think it might motivate caucus …

Please – send this message to as many and as often as you can – bombard the Caucus Members with a message so clear and with weight of numbers that it will force them to act.

You could also think about sending it to the Independents, Oakeshott, Windsor, Wilkie, and Brandt,  as well … Katter already votes with the Coalition, and Slipper and Thompson are a lost cause and their fate already sealed.

Gillard hasn’t lost , she has won .She has got rid of most of those that oppose her. After this , she will have a free reign to do as she pleases.
This country gets thicker by the day .

  2. March 23, 2013 at 3:57 pm

You state the obvious … but what has she won … how hollow is it to stand and present yourself as the PM when 70% want to throw tomatoes her … what depth is there on the front bench now when her best ministers do not want to work for her …

I say again – what has she won … Australia has lost, the ALP have lost, the Unions can enjoy their hollow victory. 2 million union members and their bosses are not representative of Australia … the election will be sooner than announced 14th Sep 2013 … Gillard’s numbers will fall below 30% and perhaps below 25% – what will she do then … continue to spit at those calling for her head …

Toughness is being mistaken for arrogant hubris …

She has won the DISrespect of 75%of the nation and god only knows what percentage of her fellow MP’s. The only thing that saved her were the eunuchs. She is a disaster, she is a Harpy, her demeanour in Parliament is that of a gangsters moll.
The only Labor MP’s who MAY hold their seatS in Qld, NSW and WA are the MP’s who publicly and forcefully disown her in the lead up to the election. The majority of voters in the Labor States of Vic, Tas and SA are so puerile they will hold their support for Labor (but not her)

This Barraabus is nothing but a troll.
    This or any other article could be called;

Integrity – Australia demands it! – But Gillard has none of it!

To suggest anyone can win from this fiasco is so sad. Who was the thief that gave his spot to Jesus to be crucified?:

I don’t think he/she’s a troll. If he is he’s not very good at it. What he says is true…for now, but I don’t read him as thinking this is a good thing.

  6. March 25, 2013 at 11:02 am

The only thing more shameful to Australia than cricket right now is Federal Politics.

Mickey Arthur gone, McTernan gone, we have only just begun.

The Ministers that were naughty have been sent to the “Back Bench naughty Corner”, others have been expelled; typical of the performance of our current schoolroom parliment! GROW UP AND START RUNNING THE COUNTRY LIKE GROWN UP INTELLIGENT ADULTS.
