I was so depressed last night thinking about Health Care Plans, the carbon tax, the economy, the wars, lost jobs, savings, Social Security, and retirement funds, I called a Suicide Hotline. I had to press 1 for English, and I was connected to a call centre in Pakistan . I told them I was suicidal. They got excited and asked if I could drive a truck ….. Nelson at Trafalgar 2013!!!
(Submitted by Roland A.) Nelson: “Order the signal, Hardy.” Hardy: “Aye, aye sir.” Nelson: “Hold on, this isn’t what I dictated to Flags. What’s the meaning of this?” Hardy: “Sorry sir?” Nelson (reading aloud): ” … England expects every person to do his or her duty, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious persuasion or disability.’ – What gobbledygook is this for God’s sake?” Hardy: “Admiralty policy, I’m afraid, sir. We’re an equal opportunities employer now. We had the devil’s own job getting “England” past the censors, lest it be considered racist.” Nelson: “Gadzooks, Hardy. Hand me my pipe and tobacco.” Hardy: “Sorry sir. All naval vessels have now been designated smoke-free working environments.” Nelson: “In that case, break open the rum ration. Let us splice the main brace to steel the men before battle.” Hardy: “The rum ration has been abolished, Admiral. Its part of the Government’s policy on binge drinking.” Nelson: “Good heavens, Hardy. I suppose we’d better get on with it full speed ahead.” Hardy: “I think you’ll find that there’s a 4 knot speed limit in this stretch of water.” Nelson: “Damn it man! We are on the eve of the greatest sea battle in history. We must advance with all dispatch. Report from the crow’s nest, please.” Hardy: “That won’t be possible, sir.” Nelson: “What?” Hardy: “Health and Safety have closed the crow’s nest, sir. No harness; and they said that rope ladders don’t meet regulations. They won’t let anyone up there until proper scaffolding can be erected.” Nelson: “Then get me the ship’s carpenter without delay, Hardy.” Hardy: “He’s busy knocking up a wheelchair access to the foredeck Admiral.” Nelson: “Wheelchair access? I’ve never heard anything so absurd.” Hardy: “Health and safety again, sir. We have to provide a barrier-free environment for the differently abled.” Nelson: “Differently abled? I’ve only one arm and one eye and I refuse even to hear mention of the word. I didn’t rise to the rank of admiral by playing the disability card.” Hardy: “Actually, sir, you did. The Royal Navy is under-represented in the areas of visual impairment and limb deficiency.” Nelson: “Whatever next? Give me full sail. The salt spray beckons.” Hardy: “A couple of problems there too, sir. Health and safety won’t let the crew up the rigging without hard hats. And they don’t want anyone breathing in too much salt – haven’t you seen the adverts?” Nelson: “I’ve never heard such infamy. Break out the cannon and tell the men to stand by to engage the enemy.” Hardy: “The men are a bit worried about shooting at anyone, Admiral.” Nelson: “What? This is mutiny!” Hardy: “It’s not that, sir. It’s just that they’re afraid of being charged with murder if they actually kill anyone. There are a couple of legal-aid lawyers on board, watching everyone like hawks.” Nelson: “Then how are we to sink the Frenchies and the Spanish?” Hardy: “Actually, sir, we’re not.” Nelson: “We’re not?” Hardy: “No, sir.. The French and the Spanish are our European partners now. According to the Common Fisheries Policy, we shouldn’t even be in this stretch of water. We could get hit with a claim for compensation.” Nelson: “But you must hate a Frenchman as you hate the devil.” Hardy: “I wouldn’t let the ship’s diversity coordinator hear you saying that sir. You’ll be up on disciplinary report.” Nelson: “You must consider every man an enemy, who speaks ill of your King.” Hardy: “Not any more, sir. We must be inclusive in this multicultural age. Now put on your Kevlar vest; it’s the rules. It could save your life” Nelson: “Don’t tell me – Health and Safety. Whatever happened to rum, sodomy and the lash?” Hardy: As I explained, sir, rum is off the menu! And there’s a ban on corporal punishment.” Nelson: “What about sodomy?” Hardy: “I believe that is now legal, sir.” Nelson: “In that case………………. Kiss me, Hardy.” Click here to see the EYE-BALL JokeZone Index: Please – if you found this post to your liking and would like to promote it to your social media contacts – i.e. Twitter, Facebook, or other icon linked account below – please click your favoured Icon(s) to promote the story. Julia at the Pearly Gates – Heaven or Hell!!!
(Submitted by Adian B.) While on her morning ride on her broomstick, Prime Minister Julia Gillard falls off, has a heart attack and dies because the ‘accident and emergency’ dept at her nearest hospital is too understaffed to treat her in time. So her soul arrives in Heaven and she is met by Saint Peter at the Pearly Gates. ‘Welcome to Heaven,’ says Saint Peter, ‘Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a Socialist around these parts, so we’re not sure what to do with you.’ ‘No problem, just let me in; I’m a good Christian; I’m a believer,’ says the PM. ‘I’d like to just let you in, but I have orders from God. He says that since the implementation of his new HEAVEN CHOICES policy, you have to spend one day in Hell and one day in Heaven. Then you must choose where you’ll live for eternity.’ ‘But I’ve already made up my mind. I want to be in Heaven,’ replies Gillard. ‘I’m sorry .. But we have our rules,’ Peter interjects. And, with that, St. Peter escorts her to a lift and she goes down, down, down ….all the way to Hell. The doors open and she finds herself in the middle of a lush golf course. The sun is shining in a cloudless sky. The temperature is a perfect 22°C. In the distance is a beautiful club-house. Standing in front of it are Gough Whitlam and thousands of other Socialist luminaries who had helped her out over the years — Bob Hawke, Paul Keating, etc., even Kevin Rudd – The whole of the Labor Party leaders were there (and all the socialists from other parts of the world..) Everyone is laughing, happy, and casually but expensively dressed. They run to greet her, to hug her (except Rudd who is still recovering from the stab wounds to his back!! ) and to reminisce about the good times they had getting rich at the expense of ‘suckers and peasants.’ They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster and caviar. The Devil himself comes up to Gillard with a frosty drink, ‘Have a tequila and relax, Julia!’ ‘Uh, I can’t drink anymore; I took a pledge,’ says Gillard, dejectedly. ‘This is Hell, ma’am. You can drink and eat all you want and not worry and it just gets better from there!’ Gillard takes the drink and finds herself liking the Devil, who she thinks is a really very friendly bloke who tells funny jokes like herself and pulls hilarious nasty pranks, kind of like the ones the Labor Party pulled at the last election with their master strokes on Education, Immigration, National Broadband Network, Petrol prices, Carbon Tax, Mining Tax, Budget Surpluses, Solar schemes, National Broadband, Health Rebate, and Tough on Crime promises. They are having such a great time that, before she realises it, it’s time to go. Everyone gives her a big hug (except Rudd!) and waves as she steps into the lift and heads upward. When the lift door reopen, she is in Heaven again and Saint Peter is waiting for her. ‘Now it’s time to visit Heaven,’ the old man says, opening the gate. So for 24 hours Gillard is made to hang out with a bunch of honest, good-natured people who enjoy each other’s company, talk about things other than money and treat each other decently. Not a nasty prank or short-arse joke among them. No fancy country clubs here and, while the food tastes great, it’s not caviar or lobster. And these people are all poor. She doesn’t see anybody she knows and she isn’t even treated like someone special! ‘Whoa,’ she says uncomfortably to herself. ‘Gough Whitlam never prepared me for this!’ The day done, Saint Peter returns and says, ‘Well, you’ve spent a day in Hell and a day in Heaven. Now choose where you want to live for Eternity.’ With the ‘Deal or No Deal’ theme playing softly in the background, Gillard reflects for a minute … Then answers: ‘Well, I would never have thought I’d say this — I mean, Heaven has been delightful and all — but I really think I belong in Hell with my friends.’ So Saint Peter escorts her to the lift and down she goes, down, down, all the way to Hell. The doors of the lift open and she is in the middle of a barren scorched earth covered with garbage and toxic industrial wasteland, looking a bit like the eroded, rabbit and fox affected Australian outback, but worse and more desolate. She is horrified to see all of her friends, dressed in rags and chained together, picking up the roadside rubbish and putting it into black plastic bags. They are groaning and moaning in pain, faces and hands black with grime. The Devil comes over to Gillard and puts an arm around her shoulder.’ I don’t understand,’ stammers a shocked Gillard, ‘Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and a club-house and we ate lobster and caviar and drank tequila. We lazed around and had a great time.. Now there’s just a wasteland full of garbage and everybody looks miserable!’ The Devil looks at her, smiles slyly and purrs, ‘Yesterday we were campaigning; today you voted for us! The Canberra Press/Media have become this horde of tramps acting out like a congregation of evangelists hunting down the story that will make their careers. Ever since they were caught asleep whilst on watch when Gillard rode on the back of the faceless men to bring down a sitting PM – the media are ever vigilant to the next leadership spill. In fact they have ever since been trying to create the ‘spill’ environment as payback. They meander as a horde of charging wildebeests in flight, often changing direction and darting like a Wilbur Smith savannah novel describing the hunter and the hunted. Their lead is the scented and puckered droppings of Parliamentarians who feed the press like monkeys in a cage at the zoo. The media hoard can only see what is in front of them, nose down and ass in the air ready to pay the levy for a good lead. Their sense of smell about a good story is even confusing the media – they never stop and think about motive, opportunity, or rationalisation of the why and who benefits from the story before they run with it. They act like bad detectives and are getting worse as Gillard pulls their strings to her wants and desires. Now this might be what the McTurd [McTernan] brings to the table … but the media are accountable for their own stupidity and lack of research. We only have the media to tell us about events emanating out of Canberra. When the MP’s need to stoke some fires and create a misdirection exercise, they can always rely on the media whores parked outside and all to eager to please, to take the bait and report exactly what the MP’s want them to. By any other name, they are the ‘dogs of war’ and sacrificial … they are hunger primed and ready to do the bidding of any MP prepared to test them and their loyalty. Yesterdays stories were already in train before Crean fronted the media 30 minutes or so before Question Time was to begin. The positive story was to be the ‘Apology’, and the negative story being ‘the Gillard and Conroy capitulation surrounding the proposed Media Legislation’. You don’t have to be Einstein to realise which story would have appeared on the front page today. That story would have fed into the polls taken over the weekend and would have had Gillards numbers under 30 come Monday next. Yesterday was another Gillard stunt to change the media focus and get her bad policy and bad governance off the front page. Some History: For weeks, even months, the media have been hinting that ALP MP’s have been backgrounding them about the ALP leadership distention .. reporting it as news and all to an effect that caused continued destabilisation. The cut to the chase reasoning here is that if Government policy is bad, and Governance is hit or miss – why is it always assumed that it is because the existing leadership is being destabilised and under threat. Why can’t it be that Gillard just sucks at her job? She is a thug at best and beats up on the Opposition and her own every chance she gets. It’s all a front to cover up the fact that she has no idea about how to run a Nation, nor interface with the people she means to govern. What can anyone say about what she has in common with most Australians – how many married men with children has she slept with – in fact that alone makes most women think of her as an ‘overacheiving bitch’ … a ‘cad’ in women’s clothing. This mornings media misandrists are out there singing her phrases and sounding every bit the nutters they surely are – where has common sense and logic disappeared to. All MP’s from all sides do this ‘backgrounding’ thing with journalists because they have to be clear in the messages intent – some journalist need to be hand-fed so they get the right slant for the story … This is the motive the MP’s carry within themselves for higher office … prostitute themselves for the benefit of someone who can make their careers take off … The weak-link in the exchange has proved to be the media – the reporters/journalists doing the bidding of these traitorous sycophant MP’s do so for their own vested reasons as well … politics is war, and the ALP suck at it. Crean’s sacrifice yesterday has many prongs if one was to try and analyse his motives and actions. He helped get Gillard into politics as she hawked herself around Victoria after her AWU Wilson affair and involvement and the Slater and Gordon sacking. Who knows what she did to get Crean’s attention but her married man complex would certainly have been invested in doing whatever she had to do to get what she wanted. Crean’s transparent actions yesterday were laced with a frustration in his beloved ALP and his want to rise as a party saviour … or that is the way Crean would have us believe. Crean’s ties to Gillard go back to his own Leadership issues where Gillard stood steadfastly beside him and repaid the loyalty she owed Crean for her career in the late 90′s post the AWU scandal and the Slater and Gordon sacking. Was Crean another married man in Gillards notched dildo that Pickering draws her with? This author only raises the thought … sorry about that … A year ago this is what Crean had to say about Rudd:
A year later and after the events of yesterday – it seems like a replay from the archives and the question is why … why does the ALP keep going to the Leadership well to distract the media over bad Governance? Yesterday’s and todays rhetoric coming from the victors have them telling us that the Leadership issue has again been resolved. Who wants to or can believe that? ‘Bad Kevin’ and ‘Good Kevin’: Rudd is a Jekyll and Hyde type character – there is ‘Good Kevin’, smiling, appeasing, and doing stunts for his millions of Twitter, Facebook, and other followers. Then there is ‘Bad Kevin’ – the man who has festered in his own revenge plans ever since Gillard stuck him with the long-knives of the faceless men in June 2010. ‘Bad Kevin’ wants nothing to do with the leadership turmoil yet is basking in his silent role at its agenda – telling everybody that his word is his bond – and he is true to his word as his refusal to challenge Gillard yesterday spilt blood everywhere and yet he remained unstained. The desperation of the caucus to seek good media is their own fault – they fell over themselves and in line with their Union boss’s to put Gillard on the throne. Be assured Rudd had the numbers yesterday, just not enough to give him ‘overwhelming numbers’ to justify him turning back his assurances to the electorate that he would not challenge again. Bob Carr and some other Gillard hater were overseas yesterday and were not there to give Rudd their vote ‘Bad Kevin’ is having a ball … he enjoys Gillard’s lurching from policy disaster to policy disaster. … but as Gillard and her waddle group charged down the corridors to the Caucus Room meeting, one could only think about this cluster of MP’s cluttered in behind their would be saviour, and all oblivious to what was really going on. Gillard knows she already straddles the spit atop the fiery embers of a ‘slow roast’ cook-off … she is pegged and straddled and she screams back at the the fire – ‘take your best shot’ as ‘Bad Kevin’ turns the cradle … Gillard’s toughness lights the eyes of her followers, it is easily mistaken for bravado and a devil-may-care attitude, she’s a ‘all-in’ punter and pretty good at bluffing those in her awe … It has worked on Abbott ever since she became the PM … but people are beginning to realise that the tough outer skin hides a persona that will destroy everybody before she will listen and take advice that Australia no longer listens or wants her anywhere near the PM role. Back to Crean’s actions yesterday – we know that he spoke with Rudd a few days before the spill – from that conversation share in yesterdays press conference before the spill, Crean told us that he believed he could be the Deputy Prime Minister if Rudd challenged. Yesterday was all about Crean’s following someone elses agenda … but who was he working for? Was his sacrifice a Gillard plant to try and draw Rudd out yet again, was it a distraction to have the media fumble the real story of the day – the failure of the media legislation – stripped from the weekend’s papers. Was it a stunt to get the media talking about Gillard’s toughness and resilience? There are so many hinges involved and the media are oblivious … ‘Bad Kevin’ response showed us he is still enjoying Gillard’s demise and his want to ‘rise from the dead’ … his rebirth is still some weeks away … maybe months, and maybe not until Gillard is shunted from office in the most humiliation of ways … i.e. Anna Bligh [ALP QLD Leader - only won 7 seats], and in similar vein to the NSW ALP’s Christina Keneally … both women by the way … Crean’s sacrifice was not unlike Roxon’s attempt to do Gillard’s bidding when she tried to push new ‘anti-discrimination’ legislation and then fade away when it failed. That legislation failure was masked by Roxon’s and Evan’s resignation from the Gillard Ministry. Crean’s show yesterday has him also resigning his Ministership, and he now resides on the back-benches with Roxon and one K Rudd – i.e. ‘Good Kevin’ … Gillard has used up two of her most loyal Ministers in Roxon and Crean, and at this rate how many will survive as Gillard serves them up to do her bidding. Today it all returns to a becalmed silence as the House in in recess for seven weeks before the Budget sitting. Bad Government still prevails and what will the media write about now? What will Gillard’s next stunt be to distract the Australian public? Some Backgrounding – The Sports Doping Story: Nobody has canvassed the real reasons for the ‘Sports doping’ story being outed when the ALP were free-falling in the polls. It happened at the peak of the ICAC Obeid revelations, and the Thompson arrest over HSU fraud charges. This came days after the Evans and Roxon resignations and the ‘antidiscrimination’ legislation failure. These stories were absolutely destroying Gillard and the ALP at the time. In the time since Gillard offered up the ACC report on ‘sports doping’, what has it revealed about ‘sports doping’. The whole case no depends an players confessing to a crime they don’t believe they committed in all good conscience. The ACC report was nowhere near complete when Lundy and Clare were sent pn a Gillard mission to get the Obeid and Thompson debacle off the media focus. In essence – Gillard threw Australian athletes and Sports Administrators under the bus to try and save herself. Now look to yesterday’s events and try and see what was different – she threw Crean out there to flush ‘Good Kevin’ out on a Leadership spill as a media distraction … ‘Bad Kevin’ saw her coming from a mile away and shot her stunt down … and the loser was the Crean and to a larger degree the ALP … Gillard’s stupidity is being mistaken for toughness and political savvy … what really has changed other than Crean now gets to sit next to Kevin and keep an eye on him in the House. Larry Pickering’s Political Take: To bring some much-needed levity – there is always the Larry Pickering Cartoons … below is a sample of his summer offerings – his images page can be access here … [click on image below to enlarge] … enjoy and don’t hurt yourself with the belly laughs … Larry Pickering also writes some very intelligent blogs including many on the AWU scandal. Whilst not as regarded as Hedley Thomas in journalistic circles – his penmanship and his heady wit give him a take on things not easily publishable in mainstream media. None the less … his take on events cuts to the chase and he does not mince words … his Facebook page can be accessed here … Added 20th Mar 2013: To see more of Pickering’s Political cartoons – use this link … |

The ALP again demonstrated today just how lost and shambolic they really are – to call for a spill and then not have anyone challenge for the Leadership is a claytons spin on a new low an ALP political history. The result of the days events are simple – Gillard is further weakened by association and any spin her supporters are advocating is pure bullshit. For example – Stephen Smith who only a few weeks ago and when on air covering the WA election result made comment about the Federal impact on the WA election. He suggested it was a leadership issue, yet today he spoke to the media after the spill that was the reverse of what he stated a few weeks ago. It has been wall to wall coverage in the media since Crean made his plea and nominated himself for Deputy Prime Minister under Rudd. Crean was trying to force Rudd’s hand and this speaks volumes for Crean’s political ability and timing. He tried to shoot himself several times – and still only did minimal damage. He looked a forlorn figure as he exited the caucus meeting this afternoon knowing his political career was over … he will be resigning his Ministerial portfolio and even Rudd will think twice about how close he wants to be to Crean in any future Leadership role. In true dumbass terms – today’s spill was a no brainer … anyone who says otherwise have not a clue as to what is really happening and going on in the background. However the media spin the afternoons events and fill the airwaves, the common sense answer is simple. Crean though he had a shot at becoming the Deputy PM – he decided to force Rudd’s hand … and Rudd held his position in the face of his supporters trying to convince him to make the challenge. He had the numbers, but they were just enough and the victory would have resolved little. Rudd will be the PM before the election – it is the timing and when you look to Gillard and her leadership woe’s ahead, why would Rudd want to take on all Gillards mistakes and those of her supporters only to have the Unions do him in again once he had balanced some of the ALP support he carries. In the next few months the following events are due and will have their media cycle and add to the negativity aligned with the Gillard Leadership:
When was the last time that Gillard got a big ticket policy right … Why would Rudd want the Leadership when all these events will reflect on Gillard … he does not want to own the fallout … why would he? Rudd will only think about a leadership move when he has a mandate along the following lines:
The equation is simple – the people may want Rudd, but until the Caucus gives him what he wants – ‘overwhelming numbers’ to use his words – he will let Gillard continue to destroy the ALP. In essence the caucus are unwilling to commit and are living in fear of becoming unemployed. This opinion is obvious … why should Rudd commit when the Caucus that dumped him twice are unwilling to commit … Gillard is forthright and punches up Abbott every time they have a stoush – but her ability to formulate policy and understand the financial impost her policy’s have imposed on Australians renders her a maverick lunatic … her misandry is worse than any misogyny levied against her. There is an opinion that it is not the ALP that is on the nose – it is Gillard … and Gillard is oblivious to how she has paralysed a Nation … Those who support Rudd know what lies ahead – there just is not enough for him to move at this stage … give it a few more sub 30 poll results and the shift will happen.

Conroy’s recent showing as the most incompetent or all Ministers has been on show since he took on the role as Communications Minister. When Rudd appointed him it was to appease the Unions, and in particular the Transport Workers Union [TWU] faction. It has proved a monumental failure and cost Australia $10′s billions is flawed decision made by a man who is completely out of his depth. How is counterparts have not noticed or acted on this previously points directly to their own incompetency. Bad Government is the fear of all voters and few disagree that this Gillard Government has lurched from one catastrophe to another as is the worst Government in our History. Why is it so hard for them to realise they need to listen to the electorate at large and take notice. The polls have been saying it for more than two years. Not once have they flinched or admitted their errors, nor have they taken responsibility for mess the Nation finds itself. The damage being inflicted on this and future generations is immeasurable and Conroy is the Black Prince of all the dunderheads sitting on the Government’s Front Bench. The NBN: The NBN is proving to be the biggest clusterfu_k in living memory and that is all Conroy. Telstra were handed a $12 billion windfall because the NBN rollout was dead in the water if Conroy could not get ownership of the Telstra owned copper network. This was an oversight in the original NBN proposal and when Conroy realised that Telstra were holding the NBN to ransom, he was forced to overpay and do a deal with Telstra that cost Australian taxpayers and handed Telstra shareholders a massive windfall. Since the deal 12 months or so ago – Telstra shares have advanced some 50% … and all because Conroy fumbled the ball. As reported by the EYE-BALL OPINION in previous posts – linked here – the deal had many other undertakings that allowed Telstra to walk away from previously exchange upgrades in regional and rural Australia to ADSL 2 type services. These exchanges now mirror the NBN rollout which is some two years behind schedule, and there is no forecast timeframe for areas that were previously advised of upgrades that were to be carried out last year.. Conroy takes no responsibility for the mistakes made in this ‘copper network’ deal. This author has written numerous letters to his Department and followed up with phone calls all to no avail. Conroy’s office have yet to provide answers to questions asked . Why did Conroy not protect the interests of rural and regional Telstra clients when he allowed Telstra to walk away from the pre ‘copper-network’ deal scheduled upgrades? The answer is simple – Conroy had no idea what he was doing when he put the deal together. Media Legislation: The continuing capitulation by Conroy and his Leadership over the proposed new media legislation escalates. Conroy’s attempt to ram through his legislation in the House this week has faltered and is not under review and amendments that were previously ruled out of bounds. Gillard has announced she is taking over the legislation and is doing deals to gather support for the bills in the hope that her leadership can survive the fallout already flowing over Conroy’s handling of the legislation – see Financial Review story here … Conroy was recently made Leader of the Government in the Senate – if he is the yardstick by which all other ALP Senators are measured – i.e. he is the best they have – then no wonder this administration lurches from catastrophe to catastrophe … A story in todays’ The Australian by Troy Bramston questions the Gillard Leadership and the Rudd numbers – see story here – it states in part …
This ‘train-wreck’ proned Government is approaching the cliff-edge and the brakes have failed. The crash can’t come quick enough and when Gillard goes – hopefully the release valve will allow common sense to prevail and an election scheduled before Swan delivers another flawed budget forecast … not likely, but if the Independents are true to their word, their decision to support Gillard and not the ALP will hopefully allow them to force the election. Latest Pickering images added – 12th Mar 2013 – see end of text linked here The trials and tribulations of Julia Gillard will create history in the true Australian traditions – convicts we were, and convicts we remain. Gillard’s criminal background was what started the rot – what was she thinking when she first thought she had a shot at becoming the PM? Talk about a Sarah Palin moment for the ALP boneheads who vetted her. Bill Shorten knew about all this history as did so many ALP Front Benchers at the time. The ‘Daily Telegraph’ has produced a timeline of Gillards notches and were she became stuck in the mud along the way. It’s a long list but hindsight is a wonderful thing – the ALP got it so horribly wrong ..
This list is important history – all children should be educated in this stuff so they know and can recognise the signs of a Government completely out of their depth … in generation terms Australian’s have shown that things need to get desperate before they take any real interest in politics. This is a major reason why politicians can get away with what they do … The electorate has no interest in politics – they have been so turned out because of all the lies and broken promises that as voters forced to make a choice – how can one measure who lies best … Larry Pickering’s Political Take: To bring some much-needed levity – there is always the Larry Pickering Cartoons … below is a sample of his summer offerings – his images page can be access here … [click on image below to enlarge] … enjoy and don’t hurt yourself with the belly laughs … Larry Pickering also writes some very intelligent blogs including many on the AWU scandal. What hope has Gillard got – with multiple open wounds leaking blood, stumbling like a punch drunk having gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson, mouth agape and shell-shocked because nobody likes her anymore, dishevelled like a street-walker having to accept that she can’t sell herself anymore, and still she wants to lead the Government like a good socialist true to the cause. There is no chivalry in this Labour Party – all those so-called would be leaders don’t want the poisoned chalice – they’re happy to troll behind Gillard until after the election and them make their move. They have not thought it through have they – how many will remain if 20-30 lose their seats – the game they’re playing is akin to russian roulette – empty chamber stuff – roll the dice and dare the voters to dump all the likely candidates. Gutless wonder Shorten is hoping the electorate will take out his major opposition, the others are equally hoping for the same result … truly … can you believe this crap from a Federal Government – the eagerness to get rid of Rudd is hardly matched in the hesitation on display. There are no words … to describe Federal Ministers perched high in the trees and behaving like monkeys to avoid having to lead a Political Party to oblivion. There is just no other way to describe what is happening and the electorate deserves better. Read a Sky News post on the above here:
Penny Wong, Peter Garrett, Chris Bowen and Gary Gray are minnows in the Leadership stakes. Wong because Australian voters won’t accept another female PM after the Gillard disaster – Bowen owns the Immigration disaster surrounding boat people, Garrett is as toxic as any MP over his ‘pink-bats’fiasco, and Gary Gray plays both sides against the middle all the time. One would think that if someone picked up the ball and decided to play the game – they would earn the respect of the electorate if it was done in the mould of Keneally and NSW Labor. Meanwhile who will feed the monkey’s too scared to come down form the trees … these guys put The Gallagher’s” from the US version of the TV show ”Shameless’ to shame … Larry Pickering’s Political Take: To bring some much-needed levity – there is always the Larry Pickering Cartoons … below is a sample of his summer offerings – his images page can be access here … [click on image below to enlarge] … enjoy and don’t hurt yourself with the belly laughs … Larry Pickering also writes some very intelligent blogs including many on the AWU scandal. Title: - Election 2013 - Growl No: 21 - - Gillard is the dumbest … i.e. – ’457 Visa’s’ - | Author: EYE-BALL’s Harry’s Growl | 10th Mar 2013| |

Latest Pickering images added – 10th Mar 2013 – see end of text linked here The question is obvious – how much longer will Gillard survive? The chant all across the Nation is – “How Dumb is Gillard” in that she does not understand she is no longer a people’s choice or wanted as our PM. In the week Gillard spent hiding in Western Sydney – all under a disguise to give some of her marginal lap-dog MP’s a chance at the next election – but really to hide out the WA election week she was refused entry to – was described on the ‘Bolt Report’ this morning as – ‘Ruling from a Bunker’ – almost Hitler like in his last days. “457 Visa’s” How dumb is Gillard to think that her appointment of John McTernan as her Media Advisor under the terms of a ’457 visa’ would not come back to bite her on the ass? In her address to open the ‘Rooty Hill’ week delivered at the Western Syd University a week ago – her closing comments included the following comments – [PM Press link here]
… this comment led to the ’457 Visa’ debate that exploded later in the week. Nothing comes forth from Gillard unless it has been given the OK by her new Media advisor. Gillard used her position of influence as the PM to hire McTernan on an overseas ’457′ visa. She used her office to avoid the ‘National Security’ issues in hiring a foreigner who will have access to the highest level clearance on matters of National Security and Secrets. To have access to all the information that comes across the PM’s desk, and under a ’457 visa’ raises all types of questions – and there is a need to know whether the relevant background checks were done. Who’s judgement was it that no other Australian could perform the job Mr McTernan was hired for? Her previous Media Advisor – Tony Hodges – resigned amid the uproar he caused when he tipped off the crowd that initiated the race riots Gillard had to flee from in Jan 2012 – see that story here with video … It would appear that Gillard is a fan of the ‘political stunt’ opportunity – and after reading McTernan’s Wikipedia profile – and the story on the sacked Tony Hodges, you will understand the ‘political stunt’ profile Gillard likes and is drawn to. McTernan’s Wikipedia profile highlights some of the stunts Some of the stunts attributed to McTernan’s influence include -
To quote directly from the page …
Gillard wanted this McTernan as her closest advisor – and to think that he was the best person for the job is only a part of the qualification for a ’457 visa’. Read the basic conditions below – [linked here]
Also – there are other specifics mentioned in the Dept Immigration page re ’457 Visa’ applications. – [altered in Nov 2012 to appease the 'boat people' problem.] The text of the alteration reads -
Ok – who did the background check on McTernan? Because it is such a sensitive position, the extent of the background checks should be made public – i.e.
Other Immigration Act specifics include:
McTernan’s Wikipedia page gives his history in politics back to the late 80′s. He was born in 1959 – what did he do in his previous 30 odd years? What of his affiliations and associations before then? Did the background check extend in the same context as refugee backgrounding? Despite this issue Gillard claimed in her WSU address – predominately Union supporters – that she now wants -
… the double standard is obvious – Gillard flounders and sinks to a level hypocrisy that demands she and McTernan must go … yet who amongst her caucus will be the first to shift and lead the path to a mass exodus that would surely follow? Odds on a new PM by Tuesday are shortening … Larry Pickering’s Political Take: To bring some much-needed levity – there is always the Larry Pickering Cartoons … below is a sample of his summer offerings – his images page can be access here … [click on image below to enlarge] … enjoy and don’t hurt yourself with the belly laughs … Larry Pickering also writes some very intelligent blogs including many on the AWU scandal. Whilst not as regarded as Hedley Thomas in journalistic circles – his penmanship and his heady wit give him a take on things not easily publishable in mainstream media. None the less … his take on events cuts to the chase and he does not mince words … his Facebook page can be accessed here … Added 18th Feb 2013: To see all of Pickering’s Political cartoons – use this link … |

Latest Pickering images added – 21st Feb 2013 – see end of text linked here As the crescendo builds around the oncoming ALP political bloodbath, deserting ALP supporters are lamenting a way of life, a history of traditions, a belief system that gave purpose, an ability to think that equality of life was a worthwhile agenda to support. This migrating population – perhaps as many as 2 million, are trying hard to come to terms with what happened to their beloved ALP. The AWU National Conference 2013:
The media are not wrong!!! Then there is the Obeid ICAC revelations and this election campaign is a minefield for ALP MP’s ad Senator’s seeking to be re-elected. The question is how much worse can it get for Labor … their hope for a let-up and reprieve to justify sticking with Gillard was the theme all through the recent AWU 2013 National Conference. That Conference completed Thursday last, and National Secretary Paul Howes re-elected unopposed as National Secretary – delivered the opening and closing speeches. Many of Gillard’s senior team gave key-note speeches and all to a cause to try and rally wavering Union loyalists. The message was that Gillard was the Leader for the ALP to take to the next election. The closing speech given by Howes is worth reflecting upon … commentary and speech provided by ‘The Age’ …
Reading Howes’ comments delivered to a room full of delegates, and all seemingly to a hopeless cause to all those not in attendance – makes one wonder at the stupidity of it all. Does Howes believe that he is anointed with some magical persona that can galvanise a deserting membership – to have them suddenly stop, turn around, listen to his ‘drum-beat’ rousing, and then have them all fall in love all over again? Howes is a serious part of the problem … he is still in love with a movement that has been crashing for decades. Unions and their secrets ‘slush-fund’ operations are all about to become Headline news for all the wrong reasons. Why didn’t Howes reflect on the current HSU and AWU issues before the Courts and under police investigatiosn at the moment? One would have thought an intelligent Leader, a Leader in tune with their members concerns would have addressed the oncoming storm and prepared the membership in some way. One would also have thought there would have been some expressing of regret for past deeds, a ‘clean-up’ message, a statement of future transparency, and an acknowledgment that what has happened at the HSU will not be acceptable in any Union movement. Did any of this happen? This was a AWU National conference – yet it was used as a Gillard prop for an election message now under way for three weeks. As a delegate what did you learn about the current AWU investigation into Gillard’s involvement in a fraud, what did they learn about the recovery of court order repayments from Wilson, Blewitt and others? What did they learn about Bill Ludwig’s involvement, Bob Kernahan, Ian Cambridge, and others who were involved. Howes’ is currently being sued and before the courts on a personal defamation litigation – read that story here … Howes performance at the National Conference missed the point on so many levels. Gillard was his personal choice in 2010 under instruction from his boss – Bill Ludwig. Ludwig was aware and had intimate knowledge of her involvement and complicity in the Wilson/Blewitt fraud and yet still – Howes stood steadfastly behind his choice and placed his 140,000 AWU members there as well. Can any one really believe that Howes has any creditability outside the Gillard camp of insiders? He called for ‘balls’ as a rallying thump – calling for MP caucus members to attach their name to ‘lose-lips’ comments. It was such a ‘bad-taste’ analogy given the mood of the electorate and what is before the courts. Howes has tried to anointed himself as a future leader of the ALP … and if his performance at this conference is an example of his life’s work – he is an unmitigated failure. The mood of this conference as they left would be a mood of trying to limit the ‘how far do we lose by’ equation. You tell me … how can people in leadership positions get it so horribly wrong … how do those around them not tap them and say – ‘it’s time’? Rudd’s revival: If they believed Rudd was going to lead them to electoral disaster in 2010 and used it as motivation to assassinate him – where is the same desperation with regard to this election … If they think he is always a backstop option and would be willing to make a grand gesture of self-sacrifice … they have severely mis-judged the man. Under his conditions – he might reconsider and they might be:
Steps like this would be unpalatable for the ALP caucus as every one of them bar Rudd has Union affiliation. Labor supporters have never accepted Gillard as their Leader … and her mistakes since have compounded her ill-legitimacy even further. Former ALP Senator Graham Richardson: Graham Richardson – a ALP pariah, they hate him for selling out and taking the money, yet they trust him with the pulse of the party … if you can work that out then you are half way to understanding how the ALP works. Richardson penned a column in today’s – ‘The Australian’ – see below:
Richardson in on record as saying that his DNA is mostly ALP … For someone who holds the ALP so close to his heart, Richardson writes the above story out of what – resentment, frustration, realism, or for the money he so eagerly takes for trashing something he so willingly announces as his other child? Richardson is symbolic of all things ALP – if they can’t make a buck out of being in office then why be there. Richardson’s links go back to Obeid, and in many circles Obeid is seen as having been mentored by Richardson – Obeid just was not subtle enough and was far too greedy in a transparent way – in essence Obeid was caught, as was Richardson in the end. Then why does Richardson still hold his position in society, why is he allowed to tell ALP secrets for money … why is he so sought after by the media on Election nights … what does he bring to the table that affords him the lifestyle he enjoys given his ‘shady’ past. Richardson enjoys a mammoth parliamentary indexed pension having served as a Senator, between 1983-1994, and as a Minister in the Hawke and Keating Government’s. Who will ALP supporters vote for: Back to the deserting ALP supporters … will they vote for Abbott, or will they go The Greens? The honest answers – maybe, and a resounding NO!!! Milne is a roasted and dried out wannabee … her divorce speech and reasoning is too obvious this close to an election, and a realisation that the GREENS are themselves in trouble with the electorate. Bob Brown was called back to put his face to Milne’s divorce choice and that too was obvious … If Bob Katter could get his party to walk the same way … they have a shot at a few seats federally … but alas, abortion and same sex marriages have caused a ‘billy-boil’ moment. Australian Politics only offers one party with any semblance of unity and with Howard’s track record on economic management … the Coalition loom as the only choice to drag this Nation back from a self-destructive brink. I am not an Abbott fan, never have been as a result of his pursuit of Pauline Hanson under Howard’s instruction. However, I despise Gillard more … I think Hockey is a rabbit, but Swan is a dunce and someone who has no idea how to manage a Nations finances, Deputy Opposition Leader Bishop shows promise as a bride to three former Coalition Leaders … her Foreign Minister counterpart in Bob Carr is a Burt Reynolds comeback, all sleaze … it just does not work and his $3 million first class taxpayer paid for travel expenses since he became Foreign Minister, is symbolic of how NSW got themselves into so much debt under his leadership. What was Gillard thinking – Rudd eats anybody on the Government Front Bench yet remains content to stay on the backbench and watch his beloved party self-destruct before his eyes … What does that say about who Rudd is … he is more dangerous to Gillard now then ever despite claiming he has no interest in a rescue mission. The ALP caucus want someone to rescue them … is that so typical of idiots in a panic … save us … help is … we are all to dumb to help ourselves!!!! Casting a net over the rest of the Opposition, nobody excites, Pyne [Reggie]… still has no discipline, Hunt – promising but does not have that crunch factor, the other Bishop [The Beehive] … should leave and become a full-time grandmother for all the good she does … and so on … who is there? Let’s be honest – neither side has any stars, none that want to lead anyway … Australia is about to face some of its greatest challenge’s in coming months and years. We have a RBA who have no idea where Australia fits anymore and have allowed off-shore funds flooding into the A$ to wreck our economy and drive labor costs through the roof. As a consequence we now have one of the most expensive labour forces on the planet. We have a bureaucratic process that has ten times more chiefs than indians … and they are all tapped into a Ponzi style super scheme that gives them lifetime pensions 3-4 times the average wage – and to be honest what did they do or have done to earn such a secure future? Australian’s have to decide on the better of two evils … there is no star performed that any can gravitate toward … it will be a choice reluctantly given, and yet the victor will claim a mandate and use it to bash those opposite. These are truly dangerous times … and ever looming is the GFC and it draws closer to our shores every quarter as the ‘money-men’ chase safe havens for their precious booty … As the ALP flower withers so it will dampen the will of off-shore investors … in fact the ALP demise might trigger some good in an A$ sell-off … We all have a right to be fearful … Larry Pickering’s Political Take: To bring some much-needed levity – there is always the Larry Pickering Cartoons … below is a sample of his summer offerings – his images page can be access here … [click on image below to enlarge] … enjoy and don’t hurt yourself with the belly laughs … Larry Pickering also writes some very intelligent blogs including many on the AWU scandal. Latest Pickering images added – 18th Feb 2013 – see end of text linked here The community at large tolerates sham marriages, be it Prime Ministers in defacto relationships, for immigration visa’s purposes, birth heredity, comfort, and the type of fickle political marriages between The Greens and the ALP for the purpose of achieving self-serving short-term objectives. Yes it is tolerated, and nobody protests because nobody really cares. The political marriage is the most festered – the most vilified, the most sceptical, and as they are born from ideology opposites, their coming together is always steeped in a toxicity of reasoning. How can a Party representative abandoned the Party platform and the central core beliefs that identify you as a person, tolerate and/or accept a marriage where you absolutely despise the intended bed-partner for all that they stand for? That is mercenary intent, a measured sell-out, slut’s to a cause, how do the Party faithful respond? Are they not then compromised in their belief also if they stay with the Party … Bob Brown of The Greens undertook an alliance with Gillard to allow Gillard to Govern after the 2010 hung parliament result. To remind everybody, and even to Senator Milne, Bob Brown enforced the point so many times – his original agreement was between ‘The Greens’ and Julia Gillard, not the ALP. Whatever that agreement was it is no longer – or as Milne tried to explain, The Greens will still support the Government on ‘confidence’, and ‘supply’, only because that was the original agreement. How can you have a divorce but still want things to stay the same? What type of divorce is Milne proposing – ‘friends with benefits’, they both get to sleep together when it comes to paying the bills, and agree to chew Mr Abbott into little bits when it takes their fancy – but when it comes to the bigger issues – al bets are off. How can business function with such a trauma arrangement. where is the confidence needed for investment … is this a ploy to have the A$ devalue … no – they are not that smart. It comes down to ego’s – Gillard wanted to be PM and that is the end of the reasoning. Whatever I have to do to be PM – I’ll do. Tony Abbott according to Tony Windsor was prepared to make the same offer … so what – so they’re all whores of a sort. For no other reason Gillard wanted to stick it to all those AWU screwball’s who wanted her tail fried back in 1995. She wanted to do the same to the Slater & Gordon partners who also screwed her legal career. And to this day Gillard still thinks – ‘I did nothing wrong’ … History has shown Gillard does not have a clue about financial management of a Nation – she could not even balance her own cheque book on self admission. How can she be expected to run a Nation’s finances. So she turned that over to Wayne Swan – he was Rudd’s choice, or before that Kim Beazley had him as his Opposition Treasurer and Rudd inherited Swan when he became Leader. Swan’s credentials were as an advisor to:
During his down time from advising ALP Ministers – he serving as a Lecturer at the Queensland Institute of Technology during 1976-77, 1981-82 and 1985-88. He was also a Policy analyst at the Office of Youth Affairs – 1978, and a nondescript advisor between 1996-98 when he was voted from Federal office at the 1996 election. What are Swan’s academic and work experience credentials to be Australian Treasurer … he holds a BA (Hons) QLD – and that had to be mid 70′s. He was born in ’54, making him leaving High School in ’72, and then a Lecturer in ’76. Not a steric of private sector employment anywhere to be found. Yet Gillard and Rudd trusted him to manage a $1.4 trillion economy … we deserve to be where we are because we should have checked out Mr Swan and asked the questions – how smart are you? Phew …now you know … so don’t fu_kup again .. OK!!! Milne is leading the Greens dow the same path the Democrats went … strong male leadership in Don Chip, and then to oblivion after successive disaster Female leadership. You can add – Bligh [QLD], Keneally [NSW], Kernot [VIC], Lawrence [WA], all ALP Premiers, and now it would seem Gillard [PM] is going to go the same way. It would seem that having a female leader is a sure sign to political oblivion for a term or two. To all those female readers – these are just the facts … no misogynist agenda here …and I’d welcome any debate you had to offer to mitigate these facts. It took The Democrats a few female leaders to get there in the end, and in that vein, Sarah Hanson-Young is already lined up behind Milne – and if you were framing odds – Milne’s exit would be sounding a quickening death knell. Here is an interesting complexity to the debate – if it can be agreed that it is the need to win women voters to who will be Prime Ministers and Premiers, then it is not the women voters who have fried the leaders mentioned above? And now it is Gillard’s time. To any novice voter – it is not hard to see Milne’s divorce announcement as a case of ‘cutting out the cancer’ before it became too infectious … as always the wait and question is did the cancer not already infect the rest of the body beforehand? The ALP’s woes were going to impact on Green Senate positions and with their primary vote already down to 8% from Bob Browns 11-12% range after the 2010 election … Milne is desperate to put some distance in the marriage. ‘Blame the Miners’ … ‘the ALP prefers Miners to the Greens’ are some of her comments to justify her position. Gillard and Brown both prostituted themselves for their own reasons to form the alliance in 2010. Politics is an even dirtier business where sleeping with the enemy is required. It gives the media so much to ponder and conclude … This Greens/ALP divorce was foreshadowed in recent State elections results where preferencing was not covered in the preamble in the Gillard/Brown pre-nup … A ‘hung-parliament’ is not ever likely to happen again in any short to medium term. Australian’s will be definitive in their choices and the hope is that the ‘None of The Above’ option is created and used on ballot papers. To highlight how befuddled the ALP caucus is – Tasmanian MP for Lyons Mr Dick Adams was on News 24 this afternoon stating that Gillard was still doing a good job, and there was no movement within Caucus to dump her …if ALP Senators and MP’s privately believe what they say in the public arena, then they really have the ‘spotted’ disease. For Treasurer Swan to cop the media beat-up against him at the moment, and for it not to be working its way into his own demon insecurities, then his blood is already turned cold, and already living in vampire land and immune to any earthly conscience issue. If so – he will of course be joining Gillard in that blood-lust for gratuitous, lustrous, and frenzied gratification. The current Treasurer has presided over a $300 billion spend in 5 years to hold it all together, and has no plan to pay any of it back. The 2012-13 surplus will now be turned into a $30-$35 billion deficit, and 2013-14 under ALP will be more of the same. We are all steadfastly marching toward an abyss …and once there the only choice will be to jump to save yourselves as the numbers queue up behind will force you over anyway. So … make a bold choice if you are still undecided … and even if a marriage with Abbott has no appeal … shackle yourself into a ‘sham marriage’ with the Coalition for a term just to stop the spending and get Swan out of the Treasury … you will rest easier … but then Abbott is no guarantee to do a Howard/Costello financial recovery because the mining boom is already over … The hard cuts are going to be worse than Newman’s QLD efforts … and if Abbott pursues the Unions, and the endemic corruption attached, backed up by the pursuit of Gillard and her AWU involvement with intent to strip away her parliamentary entitlements if found guilty, he will win a second term and then the corruption will start all over again …me thinks … Teh definition of insanity … to do the same thing over and over again without changing anything and expecting a different result … the political will has been doing this for 40 odd years with no rules put in place to restrict Governments on any of the following. The suggestion is that referendums be held to decide the following:

Latest Pickering images added – 18th Feb 2013 – see end of text linked here
See this link for Conference agenda. It also coincided with a new advertising campaign fronted by Australian legend actor Jack Thompson – your Union dues at work. What is more of concern is Howes confession that he no longer believes in poll data. When questioned on ABC’s ‘News 24′ this morning, Howes admitted to having swallowed a very large piece of ‘humble pie’ over all the attention he paid in the past to polling data. The point was made that it was ‘polling’ data that prompted the removal of Rudd in 2010. The ever friendly ABC to all things Labor failed to ask the obvious question – ‘does that mean you were wrong to take the action you, and the rest of the faceless men to dismiss Rudd in 2010?’. Howes should choke on his retraction and brazen recalcitrance – his actions and those of the other faceless men set in motion the slide of Labor and its ability to keep faith with faithful Labor supporters. The latest pol data out this morning was predictable and more bad news is to come. With 1st preferences sitting at 30% down 5% this year alone, the next set of numbers out in a fortnight will test the previous Gillard low of 25%. Everybody is now of the opinion the ACC report on Sports Doping was to get the Obeid and Thompson stories off the front pages. Again the ALP friendly press swallowed the Lundy/Clare circus and in the two weeks since, what has come from the hype surrounding the release of the report? Australian sporting heroes are up in arms, Clubs are fuming over the damage caused to sponsor deals and fan support. The Government has acted criminally if it can be proved that a meeting was held to determine to turn the media attention from the Obeid ICAC inquiry to limit the ALP brand ever further with the electorate. Paul Howes is neck-deep in the selling of the message – ‘Polls don’t matter’ … how can he hold his head and look at a camera given what responsibility he owns and damaging the ALP. His opening address to the AWU conference contained the following passage – link to full story here …
Howes full opening address can be read here … The Rio $3 billion loss was a tax minimisation deal to avoid paying any MRRT … all legal but Howes looks at the report and says ‘blame the Company’, not blame the PM, Swan and others who caved into the miners back in 2010. Howes does a great injustice to all his membership by misleading them over cause and effect. The dissent within ALP caucus rank and file have them in survival mode, looking for lifeboats and parachutes. Reports that the poll data out overnight – see poll data here – has rocked Gillard’s confidence is about time. Her leather hide covering to all things thrown at her is finally allowing the bravado to melt. Gillard is more toxic now then at any other time and someone only has to light the match. The ALP’s problem is who do they turn to when Rudd is so dead set against a return and I think he knows he would be a fool to jump aboard this sinking ship. New Pickering images added – 15th Feb 2013 – see end of text linked here The Treasurer was attending the G-20 summit in Moscow over the weekend – it was another opportunity to spend $200k of taxpayers money so he can stake his claim for another – ‘Treasurer of the Year’ gong. Despite the epic failure of Gillard’s lecture to the G-20 Heads at the Mexico summit last year, you would think Swan would be a little bit circumspect about trying to lecture the other 19 Members in attendance. There is no humility in the man – his counterparts would have been itching to know just how the – ‘iron-clad guarantee’, ‘take it to the bank’, ‘budget surplus’ backflip happened under his watch and in full sight of the deterioration fiscal position. There are $100′s billions of off-shore funds invested in Australia on the back of Swan’s preaching’s about how good management was the reason Australia survived the GFC intact. Swan boasts about the $500 billion pipeline of investment still to land on our shores. Swan is in ‘la-la’ land and in this G-20 forum he does Australia a dis-service. These G-20 Treasures are all smarter then Swan, and that would not take much. Mr Swan is to Australian politics as was ‘Sarah Palin’ to America’s biggest political escape in history. Swan is a Gillard ‘hissy-fit’ from being our PM – for him to be that close has us all praying Gillard remains. Mr Swan can only read a script written for him – his questions are asked from a prompt sheet, and if he goes off-script, he gets the big numbers all askew. His adviser status to a who’s who of past ALP Ministers before he entered Politics in 1992 , yields no financial background that gives him a superior knowledge on economic and financial markets – a must for a Treasurer to understand an economy with a $1.4 trillion annual GDP. Read this from his ‘Treasury Portal’ and from his speech to the G-20 in Moscow:
The statement - ‘have not come at the expense of fiscal discipline’ - defies the evidence so obviously available. Swan joins the PM as a compulsive liar … the content highlighted above prove his perchance to make statements that are absolutely beyond the realms political accountability. Perhaps he is so confused about what is the truth and what is real that he no longer understands when he is telling a lie … Mr Swan went on further to say -
Tax minimisation has been happening for as long as time has existed – Swan is telling these G-20 what they undoubtedly already know. Claiming that multi-national companies are doing the right thing by their shareholders in maximising legal methods to minimise Tax. Any reduction to Government revenues are by their own doing in allowing these multi-national to come and operate here in the first place. They are doing nothing illegal and for Swan to dig deep into his Labor roots, demonstrates the tunnel vision perspective he brings to the job as Treasurer. Again and for reinforcement – for some weeks now the EYE-BALL Guru has been touting a spreadsheet extraction of Federal Budget data going back to 1996. The data proves once and for all that Gillard, Swan and all the other Government Ministers out there selling a ‘revenue write-down’ lie to cover up mismanagement, and their flawed tax policies, are equally culpable in the ‘dunce-hat’ parade. As posted from Growl 16:
Further work on the RBA historical budget data is ongoing, the latest Table extraction appears below. [Click on Table/Chart to enlarge in a new window.] [Click here to download the Excel spreadsheet with the extracted data.] The on ‘face-value’ highlight of this extraction in the 1st Table above is the performance of the Howard/Costello era. In Howard’s 11 years in office his team produced a collective Budget surplus of $136 billion. Every other PM since Fraser all produced a collective ‘deficit’ result, and the collective value of those deficits from terms by Fraser, Hawke, Keating, Rudd and Gillard , have produced a collective deficit result totaling $227 billion. There are all sorts of comparison’s that can be made of these extracted and raw numbers. So – when PM Gillard states that the sum total of ‘revenue writedowns’ over the last 5 years, and places a value of $160 billion on those writedowns – how stupid does she think the electorate is. Spending an expected tax collect before t is tried and collected, especially when the Petroleum Rent Resource tax had its own teething problems as a precedent, it can only be said that Swan and his Treasury team have no idea how to manage the economic future of this Nation. in her speech PM Gillard uses the GFC as an excuse for the budget overspend. During Rudd’s term it was relevant – but in Gillard’s term sine mid 2010, the spending has never stopped. Look at the revenue growth patterns in the above table. In her first year as PM – the DPMC – [Dept of Prime Minister and Cabinet] – staff numbers went from 530 under Rudd to 907 under Gillard. It was trimmed back to 600+ in 2011-12. Abbott and Hockey have targeted 20,000 public servant jobs as a policy to save budget expenditure … the ALP mantra is to create jobs in the public arena … and Gillards staff number increase exemplifies this excess. Other interpretations from the trend of the chart above gives the opportunity for further observations:
There is any number of additional conclusions that can be drawn from the above data and chart – why would Gillard, Swan and the rest of the Ministry try to sell the budget blowout with a flimsy ‘revenue writedown’ excuse? The ’2012-13 surplus’ was always a ‘hail-mary’ play and the Government kept backing themselves into a corner. The original $1.5 billion surplus, to a revised $1 billion, and then a week or two later a complete abandonment of the surplus target. Swan has to go – he can no longer hide is incompetence. The looming May budget for 2013-14 – an election budget as well, is ‘Swan’s ‘walking the plank’ moment – he will fail again if this Government is still in office at the time.

New Pickering images added – 15th Feb 2013 – see end of text linked here The Prime Minister made one of her biggest blunders ever this morning when she connected the Aged Pensions with finding a way to replace the $160 billion of revenue writedowns over the last 5 years this Government wants us all to believe. The full text of her media announcement of the new ‘Industry and Innovation statement’ can be read using this link. To quote the PM:
This PM lies so convincingly – i.e. most of the media are too dumb to do their own investigation into the PM’s statements. Revenue writedowns only come when revenues diminish. For some weeks now the EYE-BALL Guru has been touting a spreadsheet extraction of Federal Budget data going back to 1996. The data proves once and for all that Gillard, Swan and all the other Ministers are lying about revenue writedowns. To see that Revenue/Expenditure Table – Click here - Further work on the RBA historical budget data is ongoing, the latest Table extraction appears below. [Click on Table/Chart to enlarge in a new window.] [Click here to download the Excel spreadsheet with the extracted data.] The on ‘face-value’ highlight of this extraction is the performance of the Howard/Costello era. In Howard’s 11 years in office his team produced a collective Budget surplus of $136 billion. The looming May budget for 2013-14 – an election budget as well, is ‘Swan’s ‘walking the plank’ moment – he will fail again if this Government is still in office at the time. Any number of books can be written about this scatterbrain Government – ‘Labor’s Mendacity’ – a word so often used by Climate Change Minister Greg Combet in the House is so appropriate. If anyone has been mendacious, it is contained in the mistruth’s spoken about the budget surplus, and the reason for the backflip. Other book titles that might highlight Labor’s continued mendacity might include – ’Swan’s Disasters’, ‘Gillard’s Clangers’, ‘Emerson’s Lament’, ‘Garrett’s Goofs’, ’Roxon’s Crack-up’, ’Bowen’s Confinement’, ‘Shorten’s Backstop’, ‘Burke’s Empty Nets’, ‘Bradbury’s Yuppy Bling’, and it could go on … What was Gillard thinking when she used the cost of funding the ‘Aged pension’ in comparing the so called ‘revenue writedowns’? The electorate will connect the ‘gaff’ and in some way the ‘seed’ Gillard planted will make pensioners concerned about continuity of their pension income. It won’t happen – but why draw fire when you are so exposed on so many other issues? Her advisers have lost the plot. New Pickering images added – 15th Feb 2013 – see end of text linked here More on the MRRT out this morning proves yet again that when one courts the media and uses it as a platform, the end result often proves that the tango partners have their own agendas. The MRRT is biting hard at the Government and they are at their wits end trying to get ahead of the media blitz that will produce pol data on Monday that will see Labor’s vote test the 30% level. This will be a trigger that forces the ego’s of Shorten, and other ‘faceless men’ to revisit another political assassin. AT the end of last year as the Government went to the summer holidays with a cross section of disasters -
The ‘Budget Surplus’ backflip was by far the biggest con played on the Australian electorate. There was a summary story in The Weekend Australian’ today that exposes Wayne Swan as possibly the worst Treasurer ever … read that whole story here – it is an important read for both Labor and Coalition voters because it gets to the guts of what a Treasurer is responsible for. [Note - if the link above only gives you a headline and a brief snippet of the story - copy and paste the Headline Title into a Google search engine and you will get the whole story.] Here are the closing comments -
This site through author EYE-BALL Guru has given Treasurer Wayne Swan a deserved hard time ever since the site started in late 2010. Swan’s been a ‘credit card’ junkie never having worked in the private sector. His personal website – linked here – explains his history [About Wayne] – and is part produced below:
Don’t you just love the ‘noise’ created by the ‘words’ … Cutting through the heavy overhang of self-assessment and pipe-dream scenario’s – the reality is that when Mr Swan says – ‘jobs, jobs, jobs, …’ he has no idea how to create ‘jobs’ growth other then to spend money on behalf of all taxpayers. The 800,000 new jobs he claims to have created roughly matches the year 12 school leaver population over the term he has served as Treasurer. Also – how many retirees have had to re-enter the workforce to find supportive income because of the hard economic reality that Super returns are not enough to provide for retirement – so the new jobs claim has a creditability issue. I was never a fan of Costello and in the story part published above – Costello’s achievements are highlighted – my angst was they he did nothing when the A$ began to rise as a result of the emerging resources boom – when the profits rolled in he did nothing to upgrade infrastructure to the mining boom – he transferred $60 billion of taxpayers funds to create the ‘Future Fund’ which is a great big ‘Ponzi’ scheme for current and retired Parliamentarians, Military, and other privileged Public Servants drunk on the excess’ they voted themselves. This ‘Future Fund’ Ponzi scheme is a story EYE-BALL Guru in working on at the moment as a part of his multi-part investigation into ‘Australia’s Parliamentary Remunerations’ … see Part I here … The question being asked and probed by the media at the moment is all to do with the creditability of the architects of the MRRT as it stands – Gillard and Swan. Will Gillard throw Swan under the bus to save herself – or will she admit that neither of them had any idea when they negotiated a ‘truce’ with the miners when Gillard first became PM? There is accountability – yet the MRRT is but one of the Treasurer’s disasters. No matter how many Ministers come out and talk about and provide excuses linked to revenue falls, the EYE-BALL Guru research demonstrates – see Table linked here – that the tax collect grew by 8% and 10% in 2011 and 2012 respectively. These rates of growth rank as 3rd and 7th highest over the past 17 years. It was never an unexpected fall in revenues – it was an overspend on expenditures – said so eloquently in the story linked above … The Government spent its MRRT and Carbon Tax revenues before the tax collect was confirmed – a massive economic error and something that Swan should be harshly punished for. It was his job to tell Ministers and the PM that the programs they were wanting could not be funded. Swan made his decision to let them all drink at the Treasury trough … increasing his credit card limit as often as he had to. The debt-ceiling now stands at $275 billion, up from $125 billion just two odd years ago. The actual debt stands at more than $260 billion currently and this year’s surplus now standing at a $22 billion deficit is still be done. There should be punishment and Swan will depart Parliament at the will of the electorate with a pension scheme giving him $200k a year for life with all the other perks thrown in as well. There is no accountability in that result. We the people will have to endure Swan’s pathetic financial management for generations to come. Swan was asleep at the wheel – if a ship’s captain caused a disaster in similar circumstances he would face jail time over job responsibilities and ‘duty of care’ – Politicians do not have that direct accountability and this remains a major flaw in the way our Democracy works. We all get what we deserve because we don’t impose Constitutional rules on Governments that limit the damage they can do. None the less … his take on events cuts to the chase and he does not mince words … his Facebook page can be accessed here … Added 15th Feb 2013: To see all of Pickering’s Political cartoons – use this link … |
